How can I transform my conservatory into a room that can be used all year round?

Is your conservatory too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter?

We have some tips to make your conservatory into a room you will want to spend time in all year round…

Designed by Natalie Roukin Interiors

If your conservatory is too hot in the summer you might want to think about allowing air flow, improving ventilation in the room will help it cool down, open doors and windows and let the heat escape. Blinds can help to block the sun’s rays, on a hot day keep the blinds closed until the sun goes off the room and then open the windows to let some heat escape. You can always plug in a fan or air conditioning unit when spending time in there on a very hot day.

If your conservatory is too cold in the winter, invest in sufficient heating, make sure your radiators output or fire is enough to keep the room warm. You can add a large rug so it is cosy and warm underfoot and don't forget those draught excluders! Blankets and throws can add texture, comfort and warmth for snuggling up with a hot drink.

You could also think about upgrading your glass roof to a replacement tiled eco roof.

The addition of an Econservatory roof can make your room up to 90% warmer in winter and 70% cooler in summer whilst enjoying the benefits of reduced noise pollution, no solar glare and extra privacy.

Adding practical and stylish furniture, ambient lighting, comfortable and striking soft furnishings and some nice greenery and scented candles will turn this space into another room in your house where you can relax, socialise or unwind all year round.
