How much does it cost to renovate a bathroom?

Updated: Apr 28, 2023

Depending on the amount of works required for any bathroom renovation can have an effect on the cost, however I would allow between £5,000 to £10,000 on labour for a main bathroom. However, if you were just wanting to update items that did not require new pipework and just replacing like for like, then this would be much less.

In terms of furniture brassware and tiles, again this can depend on the level of quality you are looking to achieve. It can range from £2,000 to £8,000 depending on whether branded items are important to you or practical and cost effective are more your priority.

TOP TIPS: If you are looking to minimise your costs, then keeping all your plumbing in the same place as it is currently is sensible, and not tiling all the way to the ceiling on every wall could be a cost saving. But where I would invest is in brassware, faulty taps and shower areas are common and if these are not branded parts they can be difficult to replace, and all new components would be needed.
